Chania, Kriti
Left the lovely village of Agathias and headed west to Chania. It was a bit of a culture shock going from the quiet of eastern Crete to what seemed to us the overdeveloped city of Chania. It isn't without charm but we all wondered how all the shops and restaurants could ever survive even in high season. It was like the Plaka in Athens on steroids. The upside was the terrific museum and the central market which had more locals shopping than tourists. And artichokes and olives....my favs.

Onwards to Paros
Caught the highspeed ferry in Heraklion and 4 hours later we were in Paros and settled into our 3 bedroom house in the fishing village of Aliki. The easy pace of life here suited us all. Especially as I was never the first one up and one of the Dimitri borthers had coffee already made.

Boat Tour and a magical day of swimming in jewel like waters.
Sunset at the end of a perfect day.

AdeeOh to Bridget and Jim - sadly one of the clan is not a 'jubilada' and she had to return home to work. Took her hubby with her. They got to see our second 'home' in another village before heading off to the airport. Greece is definitely our special place and we have shared some amazing times together here.
