After 3 days of walking and buses and ferries in Sydney we took a commuter train (fantastic public transit options) out to a suburb to collect the campervan which comes with the name of Bluey. This will be home for the next 10 days and we navigated our way to The Blue Mountains without too much white knuckling on my part. Brian did a great job driving but let's just say I'm not always the best passenger.
Meet Bluey at our first clamping site - we aren't sleeping on the ground and the site comes with your own private washroom so I deem it clamping! As you can see it didn't take long for the vino to get opened. Slept like the dead and awoke to the sound of kookaburros. Now I really know we are in Oz!
It's our first time in this area and even if you've seen tubs of pictures they don't do justice to the place. Today we went to a lookout and headed down a path towards a waterfall. The path turned out to be very steep and way more challenging than we expected. The campers next to us had warned us but we are Canucks and a bit of hike isn't a problem. Or so I thought - I thought I would die on the way back! But we are back, showered and revived and having a glass of wine before we make dinner in the very well appointed communal kitchen.
